Ingredients

For the Aloo Jeera
Potatoes (aloo) 500 g, boiled and cubed
Refined oil 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds (jeera) 2 tsp
Green chillies 2, finely chopped
Bhavo Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
Bhavo Red Chilli Powder 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp or to taste
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Dry mango powder (amchur) 1/2 tsp
Fresh coriander leaves 2 tbsp, chopped
Lemon wedges For serving (optional)

Steps

Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes

Time: 10 minutes

  • Wash and boil the potatoes until just tender. Peel and cut them into medium-sized cubes.
  • Keep the potatoes aside and allow them to cool slightly before cooking.

Step 2: Temper the Spices

Time: 5 minutes

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  • Add green chillies and sauté for 30 seconds until aromatic.

Step 3: Add the Seasoning

Time: 3 minutes

  • Add Bhavo Turmeric Powder, Bhavo Red Chilli Powder, and salt.
  • Mix quickly on low heat to prevent the spices from burning.

Step 4: Cook the Potatoes

Time: 8 minutes

  • Add the boiled potato cubes and toss gently until they are evenly coated with the spices.
  • Cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes become lightly crisp.

Step 5: Finish the Dish

Time: 3 minutes

  • Sprinkle garam masala and dry mango powder (amchur), then mix gently.
  • Cook for another minute to blend the flavors.

Step 6: Garnish & Serve

Time: 2 minutes

  • Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with roti, paratha, dal-rice, or enjoy it as a side dish.
